well more power to them. when i was diagnosed with cancer in 02. i weighed 495lbs. i had a tumor the size of a football. during treatment it was the one thing that kept me alive. i lost 250lbs a whole person and have been in remission for 6yrs. what confuses me is i go to the gym 5 times a week as i am on disiability. i do arobics 3 times a week doing a cycle class 20 miles a 1 hour session, i lift weights 2 days.for some reason my weight has gone up 50lbs. now i am sure some is muscle. but i know some is fat. i try dieting no luck. i cant try these goofy pills because of the cancer. but i dont look like babar matbe warren sapp. but being 50 i would like to get down to 250lbs as i want weight for when the cancer comes back. if any one has gone thru chemo it is a killer. your body needs something to get you thru it. i got the worst a cycle of 10 chop treatments and 12 ritoxin along with radiation. if had weighed a normal weight i would be dead. was wondering if any one could help. would like to get fat content down to 20-25%. right now i am at 40%. as my doctor told me at the start. you are like the dirty dozen, you have one chance, i used it dont want to roll the dice again

Congratulations to all of you who have lost so much weight.  I weighed 360 Lb's on January 19, 2008.  It was a shocking day for me, well not really, I did deep inside of my heart knew that I was well over the point of being just fat, but did not want to acknowledge it openly.  Just before the December 07 holidays when School closed, my middle child (girl) told me that when a friend asked her sometime during that year who I was, she would tell that I was her Aunt.  That put me in a state of mind and during the Christmas holiday of 07 I ate literally like a pig.  Emotionally I just could not stop.  I was so depressed about my weight and still denied the amount of pounds  I "might" be weighing.  I did not have a scale in the house, so I kept on guessing my weight and size....lol always underestimating it.  Anyway with being so depressed, December 07 was a horrible month.  I started getting anxiety attacks which I have never suffered from before.  (I've always been the "skinny" one in the family), my weight started climbing after the 3rd (last) baby was born.  I was FAT for about 6 years in total up to a few months ago when I reached my ideal weight.  I now weigh a good 145 Lb's and some charts would still say I'm fat or overweight, but I think that 135 Lb's would be too skinny on me.  I'm 5.6 inches tall and medium build.  I lost 215 Lb's since January 08.  And everyday I just pray and ask that I do not start with my old habits again.  I did not have any surgery, just like all you guys here, started walking, eating less and just became more and more active each day.  Today I walk 15 miles in a about 2 hr's with a smile.  The weight training that I do in front of the TV have built my muscles so I don't have too much flabby skin although I am considering a tummy tuck.  My arms and legs are well toned and NOBODY BELIEVES ME when I tell them that I was 360 Lb's just last year.  People only believe me when I show them a photo of myself during December 07.

After this long story of mine, all I actually want to say is....STICK WITH YOUR PROGRAM.  Never let anything get in your way and remember everyday is a NEW day and treat it that way!  O and yeah, my daughter actually wants me to come to School this year and meet her new teachers for the new school year...how's that for a treat?.  O and I'm 39 yrs and a mom of three wonderful kids that have supported me through every step of my weight loss.  Kudos's to them as well.  They would keep snacks away and also rap me on the fingers if they caught me with a "cookie"...lol.

LMAO Get in the kitchen and cook beeyaches!...I have maintained my loss with a Little Black Book-Daily Food Diary and then I graduated to combine it with the workout journal when I finally learned how [not] to eat! Eye-rolling

The diary has a "Personal Choice Menu" template I filled out so I can eat what I love, but, also count calories and serving sizes.

It so works to record what you eat...especially for long term maintenance!

btw at first I had to use the back of the form as well...tee hee hee.

I don't know if the creators of this web site read comments -- but, I know I would benefit from knowing how old the members of this club are -- I'll be 55 at the end of the year and I would like to be able to relate to someone my age who has lost 100 pounds.

Thanks!

I have lost over 100 lbs myself.  I changed my eating habits, concentrating on fish, chicken, vegitables.  1 gallon of distilled water daily.  I exercise 6 days per week now.  We cook more at home, less eating at restaurants.  We use no salt and watch our portion size.  Now, after 1 year and a half, I am down to a 34inch waist from a 46 inch waist.  I recently decided to train for my first 15k run.  My exercise routine includes 60 minutes of cardiovascular, 30 minutes of weights.  I have recently reduced my daily blood pressure medications from 3 to 2.  Hopefully, I will be rid of them for good some day.

I credit my turn-around to my mother-in-law.  She referred me to a nutitionis/life saver.

I have learned a new way of life, not just a "diet".

Lesson to learn.....When people ask when will you finish your diet, tell them that it is a life change, not just a diet.

The timeline for Daniel cant be correct.  This is just Aug. 2009.  He is claiming to have started his diet in June 2008 and has maintained the weight loss for over a year...

My brother has lost 160 pounds and he didn't start seeing his weight come off until he stopped drinking the diet soda. If you are not willing to monitor what goes into your body and sweating isn't for you, well then, have a nice short, obese, diabetes ridden life.
