Adolescents need to continue their vaccination series and receive booster shots for ongoing protection against diseases. Many adolescents were born after the current recommendations for certain vaccinations, such as for hepatitis B, were established. So they did not receive all their needed shots in early childhood. The specific shots you need as an adult are determined by factors such as your age, gender, lifestyle, type and locations of travel, overall health, and previous vaccinations.
