Thought-controlled artificial limbs
Nothing can replace the loss of a limb, but research is moving full-speed ahead in developing prosthetics to behave more like the real thing. Researchers at the Penn Center for Brain Injury and Repair in Philadelphia are busy working on a biological interface that could link a patient's nervous system to an artificial limb that responds to thought. The technique, says lead researcher Douglas H. Smith, M.D., is to trick the patient's nervous tissue to grow onto the device permanently. "This integration allows the patient not only to move the prosthetic with thoughts, but also to receive sensory signals, such as touch or temperature, from the prosthetic itself," says Smith. The device could be in clinical trials within the next few years.

Squeeze is a f*cktard.  How do you take an article about these amazing new medical technologies and turn it into a political issue?  Seriously GET A LIFE!  Nothing you said has any real logic whatsoever.  They probably didn't post your blogs because they were complete bullsh*t!  It's amazing how you people's hate for liberals clouds your mind and prevents you from seeking the truth.

What about a device to reduce the amount of radiation when getting a ct or mri..... there is a company in California waiting for fda approval that can produce a 3-d image and they claim to emit 1/2 the amount of radiation as a ct or mri, and it is produced in real time. Every step to reduce cancer is a good step in my book. The company name is imaging3.

With all of these technological advances, why can't they come up w/ ways to better the way in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses? Some of these things that they are fixing wouldn't need to be fixed if they could make better drugs that wouldn't give such bad side effects....severe weight gain, which leads to diabetes and heart problems, etc etc etc...I could go on and on...make better drugs! I know it isn't cost effective for Big Pharma, but it's what's best for everyone else.

They are being screened by MSN who is affiliated with NBC - the most liberal media you will ever find.   I never really thought that BIG BROTHER was there until now.  I have already submitted two blogs on this system and neither have appeared.  I guess the Bill of Rights are the Bill of Wrongs if a liberal disagrees with it.

Interesting to read about all of these new advances in therapy which we know that the only people that will be able to use them will be democtratic politicians.  With new healthcare plan, doctors will have no power, the government healthcare czar will have a collection of people that determine whether or not you need this based upon several factors to include age and who you know.

Wow, those docs and scientific inventors totally blew it on whole blood bot idea - they just completely spaced the implications and potential complications of bots in arteries.  Good work! Brilliant analysis!

Once again like Cell phones following star treks communicator. Medical science is following science fiction nano bots to clean cells or arteries like in Beggars of Spain by Nancy Kress, good to see in my life time. Unlike villas on the moon.

I absolutely agree Makeover Boy.... marajuana is an ant compared to the ELEPHANTS in the room like xanax, valium, phenergan, demerol, MORPHINE,,,,,   Completely natural (if processed correctl), docile and effective. NOT synthetic. Remember, doctors are indoctrinated in medical school by institutions. Just look what the institution  thinks about The Gerson Therapy, which stems from  Dr. Max  Gerson,,,, they poo poo on it b/c it works... "hush hush it,,, playit down,,,, The Gerson Therapy will take away our profits!" (pharm cos)
The blood travels fast,,,,,. it will be the end of the person if the bot hits the heart, and if it by chance gets past the heart without causing the death of the person, it will not get through the capillaries or smaller arterioles, thereby causig a clot .

All very remarkable diagnostic procedures indeed. Knowledge is essential to achieving optimum health, but implementing what you learned is the Golden Key. Make 2010 a banner year by educating yourself on how to offset disease through positive lifestyle changes - take control of your health through knowledge and effort.
