In a disaster or during a health emergency such as a flu pandemic, keep in mind that neighborhood grocery stores and gas stations may run out of supplies. Essential services such as electricity, telephone and health care may be disrupted or shut down. Be prepared by assembling a survival kit to get you through these tough times.

You should have supplies to last everyone in your household — including pets — at least two weeks. Store supplies in a cool, dry place in easy-to-carry containers in case there's a need to evacuate. Check and replace any supplies past their expiration dates. Adapt this supply list to suit your specific needs.

its people like you that are so negative, never have a good word to say . especially about the president of the united states. don't see you running for one of the hardest jobs ever in the united state . how about putting your time and effort in trying to come up with ways to help the situation instead of blowing hot air. you should be glad we have the gift of freedom of speech cause in any other country what your saying would be called treason. the***** happened before our new president was in office he's just trying to clean up after  bush. your just a mouth that mumbles but does nothing about the issue    glad the world isn't filled with marlene7...........

My insurance company will not pay for prescription medicine for more than a one month supply and will not refill until there is less than a week supply left.  How are we to keep a month supply on hand for emergencies?

I was told by a world renowed  pulmonolgy specialist that he would not take the H1N1 vaccine. You are now putting a live virus into your body and there has not been enough time to do trial studies on this drug it takes more time to do trials on over the counter asprin than this admistration gave the new H1N! flu vaccine. The current sesonal flu vaccine you get every year is a dead virus that is being injected into you body.I am a person with a rare lung disease and when both my specialist and family pulmonologist says they wouldn't take it you can bet i'm not. If your very cautious and wash your hands constantly put hand sanitizer in your bag and take plenty of vitimuns a,b,c,and d get plenty of rest stay away from crowds you should be ok.  D

oh but my favorite is blaming the president! lol!!!!! It is clear that this was his big plan!! Lets get everyone sick with the flu. I see him in his lair now plotting the fall of his country. First we'll start with the swine flu then we'll set out a strain of a very deadly toe nail fungus! SAVE YOURSELVES! LOL! just wash your hands people and stay home if your sick. If your boss has a problem with it, go into his or her office while coughing and ask him about his or her weekend. End the meeting with a very friendly handshake!

humm.. Its funny how after the "new" president came into office this **** happend. He's got change alright.  I dont trust that man. never did, never will. That's how he is gonna "fix" the problem. He is gonna wipe out many of us. but thanx to all those who where looking for change.. There you go. Its funny how they put this stupid little list out here like if this **** gonna help us survive whats coming. With stupid information like this there is gonna be more heart attack deaths than swine flu deaths.  Dont get ready to survive get ready to die.

Bubbyboy,
Influenza in any season can be life threatening for some people.  This is similar, except that there is no human immunity towards it nor is there any vaccine yet.  Most other flu seasons we have vaccine, so less people are affected and those with chronic problems often get the flu shot.   Many people think stomach viruses are "the flu", but once you have true influenza, you never want to get it again.
