David Kirsch's Celebrity Shape-Up Workout
Fitness trainer to the stars shares his favorite exercise moves.

David Kirsch is the fitness trainer behind some of the most enviable figures on the red carpet. His client roster reads like a Hollywood who's who, and includes Heidi Klum, Liv Tyler, Linda Evangelista, Anne Hathaway, Karolina Kurkova and Kerry Washington. Here, David shares his favorite moves for shaping up in a hurry with MSN Health & Fitness readers.
The basics: Perform two to three sets of each exercise and rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.
Oblique crunches: These work your external and internal obliques (they form the sides of your abs).
How to do it: Lie on right side with knees bent, right arm on the floor in front of you, left hand behind head. Crunch, lifting knees straight up and bringing left shoulder toward them; pause, lower and repeat.
Do 15; switch sides.
Where to focus: Focus energy on engaging lower abs, not hip flexors. (You should feel it from your belly button downward.)

Well done, David. That is exactly what everybody should exercise - men or women.

Thank you David . . . these look fun and challenging . . . I always know the exercises I should do most are the ones I want to do the least! My body gets comfortable doing the "easy" ones . . . I want a challenge because I want to change the way I look. I want to be the "best that I can be" (without having to join the Marines)! :0) Thanks for your great advice and exercises! You're the best!
